The Village of Adventures
We are committed to efforts that support the creation of a more sustainable festival. Our focus is on providing hands-on and enjoyable sustainability education. We aim to set an example for other major Albanian events. Each year, we analyze our environmental footprint seeking new initiatives to reduce our impact and contribute to a sustainable and eco-friendly festival experience.
In South Outdoor Festival there will be various activities & workshops related to the environment for adults and kids. The schedule for participating in them will be published soon.
Waste recycling
Just as last year, we will be collecting plastic, aluminium, and glass waste throughout the festival. About 30-40% of the waste produced during the event can be reused or recycled. To further improve these results, there will be about 50 Volunteers going around the festival and collecting selective waste.
Our goal is to achieve a 50% recycling rate at least.
Power Tree
With the help of our green Partner "ITQ Project" we are excited to introduce our solar powered “tree”: festivalgoers can use its roots to charge their smartphones for free.
Plus, enjoy the best dance classics from across the decades with our DJ line-up, played directly from the Power Tree!
Kids love green
An environmentally friendly space for all, the South Outdoor Festival is also offering a dedicated green space to children 3-10 years old. From activities ranging from “How to become an activist” to taking part in compost challenges and creating one’s own arts & crafts from waste, we highly value raising awareness among younger generations.
Recycling shop
Collect empty bottles, cups, and cans off the ground and earn points for recycling all weekend long. Redeem the points for festival merchandise, experiences, and other vouchers.
Included:
- Official t-shirt
- Food vouchers
- Games
- Vodafone gifts
Refill not Landfill
We will be offering water from the main water supply of Borsh, of the same quality as that found water bottles. Refilling a reusable water bottle makes a huge difference in the volume of plastic bottle waste. Look for the water droplet symbols on the map to locate these points.
Paper services
To show our dedication on making the festival as sustainable as possible, our delicious food will be served in recycled paper dishes, hence lessening the environmental footprint.
Reusable cups
"Never give up on your cup": this year at South Outdoor Festival, drinks will be poured into reusable cups. Buy your first cup (50 ALL), then take your used one back and receive a new one. If you don’t want to lug your cup around all night, you can exchange it and get your money back.
No straws
You won't see plastic straws at our bars, as they are extremely harmful to the environment; therefore our bartenders will only provide reusable straws, upon request.
